Taiwanese shipments of Wimax customer premises equipment reached 844,500 units in the third quarter of 2009, growing 56.7% sequentially and 236.5% year-on-year, according to Taipei-based Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute.
The substantial growth was ascribed to Wimax carriers' positive outlook for subscriber growth in 2010, reflected in increasing demand for Wimax CPE.
With growth in Russia, India and North America, Taiwanese Wimax CPE shipment volume is projected to top 1.1 million units in the fourth quarter of 2009.
