Hong Kong, August 16, 2011- Telecom Asia is calling for nominations for its fourth annual Readers' Choice Awards and is asking service providers and analysts across Asia Pacific to nominate the best technology suppliers in 21 categories.
Nominations, which open today and close on September 2, will be reviewed by Telecom Asia editors who will consult with a panel of analysts to establish a shortlist of nominees to be on the final ballot to be voted on by Telecom Asia and Telecomasia.net readers in September and October.
Online voting will be open to Asia-Pacific telecom services providers after the nomination phase is completed and the shortlist is published. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on December 1 in Singapore.
The Readers' Choice Awards are held annually to recognize the technology innovations and accomplishments of the top telecom vendors operating in Asia Pacific. Last year, Cisco Systems and Ericsson each went home with three trophies in Telecom Asia’s 3rd Readers’ Choice Awards while Huawei Technologies and Amdocs won two awards each.

Nomination Criteria:
- Overall quality of innovation and contribution to technology advancement (40%) * Market acceptance -- market share growth, market share and new customer acquisition (20%)
- Revenue growth and contribution too overall industry leadership (20%) * Vision and industry leadership (20%)
- Based on performance in 12 months prior to August 1, 2011 -- nominated products/services should have been available by June 30, 2011
