Wi-Fi provider Boingo Wireless has launched a new unmetered access plan aimed at travellers in the Asia-Pacific region.
The $12 monthly plan gives laptop users access to some 145,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in continental Asia and Australasia, including China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Roaming outside of Asia will be billed at between $0.12 and $0.18 per minute.
The company is also offering an unlimited plan for smartpones, providing access to the company's entire global hotspot network for $8 per month.
Boingo this week also announced it had expanded its network with the launch of managed Wi-Fi services at Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
The hotspot service will use infrastructure from WLANnet under agreement with that company and parent Milcom Systems. Boingo will handle authentication, sales and traffic.
Boingo's network currently covers around 325,000 hotspots in APAC, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
