Equinix announced that National Voice + Data, a corporate communications market based in Australia, will use Equinix’s first Melbourne data center, ME1.
The company said the deployment in ME1 will further expand National Voice + Data’s cloud platform throughout Australia. This also expands National Voice + Data’s footprint with Equinix, initially having deployed in Equinix’s Sydney data center, SY3, in 2009.
One fifth of National Voice + Data customers already leverage the cloud, while industry forecasts suggest that one third of enterprises are expecting to move to a hybrid cloud model by 2018.
Deployment in ME1 will enable National Voice + Data to further expand its national voice, data and cloud infrastructure and bolster itself as a ‘cloud-first’ full service telecommunications provider.
Equinix meanwhile said its cloud ecosystem offerings in the Asia-Pacific continue to grow with the number of cloud customers growing over 25% year-over-year.
In Hong Kong specifically, cloud customers have increased 15% as local and international cloud service providers (CSPs) are choosing to deploy with Equinix Hong Kong as an entry point into Asia-Pacific.
Netswitch, Nexusguard and OneAsia are among the noteworthy Hong Kong customers that have joined Equinix’s cloud ecosystem while simultaneously leveraging the Equinix Cloud Exchange, a multi-cloud and multi-network solution.
By connecting to Equinix’s Cloud Exchange, CSPs can rapidly advance their cloud computing agendas, scale their businesses globally and speed-up their time to market.
