NBN Co, the government enterprise rolling out Australia's National Broadband Network (NBN), is seeking consultants to assist the new government in conducting a strategic review of the operational and financial performance of the NBN rollout.
“The Strategic Review is a comprehensive exercise led by NBN Co to determine how best to provide access to very fast broadband to all Australians as soon, as cost-effectively, and as affordably as possible. While the review is underway, construction of the network continues,” said NBN Co’s Executive Chair Dr. Ziggy Switkowski.
The new Coalition government has ordered NBN Co conduct the review to explore questions including whether and to what extent the FTTP rollout should be replaced with alternative access technologies including FTTN.
The review will be conducted in December. It will also be a key input into the company’s 2014-17 Corporate Plan, which is due to be delivered to the Government in the first half of next year.
