Ahead of CES, which kicks off tomorrow, ASUS has revealed the four tablets with which it hopes to compete with Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab.

Variety is the name of the game here, offering a choice of devices in the 7", 10" and 12" form factor, as well as one with a slideout keyboard and two with a stylus for handwritten input.

It's a strategy that is becoming increasingly popular but the four ASUS tablets, the Eee Pad MeMO, Eee Pad Transformer, Eee Pad Slider and Eee Slate EP121 all deliver in the hardware department and are attractively styled.

The MeMO will be running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and features a 7" screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon processor and HD video playback. There are two cameras, a 5mp one and the other a 1.2mp sensor for video calling.

Similarly spec'd to the MeMO is the Eee Pad Transformer which comes with a larger 10.1" display and docking station with integrated keyboard. The other key difference is the processor which will be an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip. The Eee Pad slider also has a 10.1" screen and shares the same specs as the Transformer but as the name suggests comes with a full slide-out keyboard.
