Asian pay-TV operator Astro has selected NDS's MediaHighway DVR solution for deployment in Malaysia.
According to Astro, NDS's DVR solution will allow its subscribers to benefit from state-of-the-art technology that offers navigation tools, enabling them to pause, fast-forward and rewind live programs; to record one program while watching and time shifting another; to manage the content that has been saved to their STB; and to easily find programs, live or stored, even if the programming schedule changes.
Subscribers can record more than 60 hours of content directly on to their hard drive in the STB.
MediaHighway is a fully multitasking middleware that enables viewers to use multiple iTV applications at the same time without closing them. While viewing content, users can surf between various iTV applications such as electronic program guide, games, enhanced TV and weather, without interruption.
