Alibaba Cloud has signed yet another cloud interconnection collaboration agreement with an international cloud service provider, this time with Singapore-based telecoms operator Singtel.

Under the agreement, Singtel will provide direct connectivity to the Alibaba Cloud via its Singtel Cloud Access platform.

Singtel Cloud Access is based on Singtel's IP VPN network spanning 428 points of presence worldwide. It is designed to allow enterprises to access cloud applications over a secure, private network instead of relying on vulnerable to disruption internet-based connections.

Singtel will first roll out the cloud access service in Hong Kong and Singapore, before expanding it to the US and Europe.

“Riding on Singtel’s extensive IP VPN, enterprises in China and Singapore will find the new connection particularly useful as it eases their operations and business expansion seamlessly,” Singtel CEO group enterprise Bill Chang said.

“Coupled with Singtel’s network of data centres in the region, Singtel can support Chinese enterprises, including software and cloud service companies, with comprehensive ICT and managed services.”

The agreement comes hot on the heels of Alibaba Cloud's recent agreement with Tata Communications to provide access to the Alibaba Cloud's ExpressConnect via Tata's IZO Private Connect service, and its deal with Equinix to provide access o the Alibaba Cloud via Equnix data centers in Hong Kong and three other markets.
