Adapt to changing demand

Amdocs Asia Pacific division president Avi Schecter explains why is it so difficult for most operators to launch new services quickly?

Service providers have a tremendous opportunity to address the emergence of digital services and the connected world, in which there will be a trillion networked devices, most of them not phones.

But to do so, they have to adapt their existing legacy infrastructure and business processes to meet changing consumer demand. At present, they are deterred by the high cost of doing so, and this is prolonging time to market and placing potential revenue at risk. Another issue holding service providers back from launching new services quickly is the management of legacy and siloed systems and the sharing of customer and product information and processes across multiple channels.

The answer to the digital service challenge lies in effectively managing the end-to-end customer lifecycle experience – from order to fulfillment. In addition, service providers must monetize the new data services, and do so through real-time charging mechanisms.

What service providers need is a flexible, modular, integrated and cost-effective suite of products that can manage and automate processes to deliver services to customers quickly.
