Australian fixed-line operator AAPT has partnered with Overture to offer expanded 80 Mbps mid-band Ethernet availability using Overture’s Ethernet over copper platforms.
Additionally, APPT announced it had deployed its 1000th Overture Ethernet over copper aggregation platform, marking a major milestone in the expansion of its service footprint.
The firm said its Layer 2 carrier Ethernet offerings include point-to-point and multipoint E-Line as well as multipoint-to-multipoint E-LAN services. These services also form the foundation of a number of other AAPT products such as cloud computing, SIP, Internet, IP transit and IP-VPN offerings.
David Yuile, AAPT CEO said the company’s mid-band Ethernet services “have been well received by businesses that don’t have a fiber option.”
The executive said the infrastructure also allows higher symmetric bandwidth to support demanding enterprise cloud and IP voice services.
Overture offers Ethernet over copper solutions that leverage on existing copper infrastructures to increase the market reach for symmetric business services, cloud connectivity, as well as small-cell mobile and broadband backhaul applications.
