New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has been captured boarding a private jet heading for England to start work as a manager in the Old Trafford dugout.
Bet with Bet365The former Sporting Lisbon boss was seen alongside his five assistants, Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Paulo Barreira, Emanuel Ferro, and Jorge Vital, on the 11 a.m. flight from Beja on Monday morning, according to a Portuguese report.
The 39-year-old and his five assistants are expected to land in Manchester just before 2 p.m. UK time. Ruben enjoyed the best fairytale farewell at Sporting as the young manager guided the team to an impressive 16 wins from the 18 matches played in all competition this season, including a commanding 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League. His last match with Sporting Coach ended in a triumph 4-2 over Braga, despite going 2-0 down in the first half.
Ruben's first job when he lands at Manchester United is expected to be holding crunchy talks with interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Van Nistelrooy took the interim position at Old Trafford at the end of October following the termination of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United coach, and Ruud guided the team to a four-match unbeaten run, including claiming United's long-awaited European win.
Ruben's first game in charge of Manchester United will be an away clash against newly promoted boys Ipswich immediately after the international break, and then he followed it up with a game against Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford in the Europa League Phase.
