During a recent visit by hygiene inspectors, droppings were found, leading to the club receiving a two-star rating, which is significantly below the maximum of five stars. Club officials are collaborating with pest control partners and the local council to implement a series of measures aimed at addressing the issue.

Mail Sport has reported that inspectors discovered signs of mice activity in a ground-level corporate suite and in a food kiosk serving fans on the concourse. As a result, they lowered United’s food hygiene rating from four stars to two and mandated that improvements be implemented. This issue is related to the stadium's location, which is situated between a canal and a railway line.

The new issue further indicates the bad state of the Old Trafford Stadium after footage emerged from Ruben Amorim’s press conference after Sunday’s 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth of water dripping from the roof.

United's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and INEOS are currently exploring whether to build a new stadium or renovate Old Trafford. According to an early report in August, United has plans in the summer to rebuild a new stadium, which will cost around £2 billion, with architects Foster and Partners being tasked with bringing the INECOS dream to life.
