Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 start date for Europe

Last year, each of the three DPC seasons lasted six weeks, much to players' and spectators' dismay. This schedule caused teams to play one match a week and do nothing the rest of the time. Because of this, side tournaments didn't take place either: there needed to be more time. Valve listened to the people's voices and changed the format slightly. DPC seasons will now last three weeks. Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 will run from January 9 to 29.

Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 prize pool for Europe

The Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 prize pool is $205,000. This will be split almost equally between all competitors. However, the teams will not participate in the DPC seasons for the money but for the DPC points. The five best teams in the tournament will receive these points. The distribution of the prize pool and DPC points for the first DPC-2023 season is as follows:

  • 1st place - $30,000 and 300 DPC points;

Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 favorites for Europe

In Europe, the favorite of the first DPC season is, of course, Tundra Esports. After all, this team won the last The International, showing incredible play and winning the grand final without a chance. They are currently the strongest team in the world. However, there is always a decline after the rise, so do not expect 7-0 statistics from Tundra Esports at the end of the season. There will clearly be misfires, but even so, the team should be in first or second place in the tournament.

Also among the favorites are Team Liquid and OG. These teams performed well at The International 11 (especially the "liquid" ones). And after the main tournament of the year, they made only one substitution each. Michal Nisha Jankowski joined Team Liquid and Dmitry DM Dorokhin joined OG. Both replacements can be called reinforcements, so the teams should show a good game in Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Season 1 for Europe, especially since they do not have many competitors right now. The region has clearly become weaker after the global reshuffles.
