Venezuela are heading into their twentieth appearance at the Copa America, but they are priced as the third favorite to qualify from Group B by bookies. La Vinotinto will be looking to rewrite their history at the Copa America, as they have failed to win a match in twelve consecutive participations from 1975 to 2004, but in their recent participation at the 2011 Copa América championship, Venezuela reached the semi-finals round for the first time by defeating Chile in the quarter-final, 2-1. Venezuela's head coach, Fernando Batista, will hope his side can end their poor run, as they failed to win any of their three friendly games in preparation for the 2024 Copa America. They lost 1-0 to Colombia, 2-1 to Italy, and had a goalless draw with Guatemala.

Jamaica qualified for the 2024 Copa América by reaching the 2023–24 CONCACAF Nations League A semi-finals, following their win against Canada in the quarter-finals. The Reggae Boyz, in their first appearance at the Copa America in 2015, finished bottom of the Group B table with zero points among Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. The subsequent year, Jamaica competed in the Copa América Centenario as winners of the 2014 Caribbean Cup, again finishing last in the group stage.
