Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has been voted as the Premier League Player of the Month following an astonishing goal-scoring performance in December.

The striker Isak scored a hat trick against Ipswich Town while also scoring against Liverpool, Brentford, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Manchester United. His goal in the 3-3 draw with leaders Liverpool is on the shortlist for December's Guinness Goal of the Month award.
The 25-year-old forward also netted in Newcastle's EFL Cup semifinal first-leg win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in midweek, reaching 50 goals in all competitions for the club. He has now become the first Newcastle player to claim the prize since October 2022, when Miguel Almiron won it. This season in the Premier League, Isak is the joint third-highest goal scorer, having scored 13 goals so far, providing four assists.
