• The top 8 teams from the 2022 cricket tournament qualified automatically (Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka);
• Bangladesh and Afghanistan qualified through ICC Men’s T201 Team Rankings;
• Ireland and Scotland qualified through Europe Qualifier;
• Papua New Guinea through East Asia- Pacific Qualifier;
• Canada through Americas Qualifier;
• Nepal and Oman through Asia Qualifier;
• Namibia and Uganda through Africa Qualifier;

This tournament will feature three stages – group stage, Super Eight, and finals. The 20 qualified teams are divided into four groups, meaning there will be 5 teams in every group. To enter the Super Eight, the top two teams from every group qualify. The qualified groups are then divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from the teams that qualify enter the knockout stage. Next, there will be semi-finals and finals.

The first team to announce their 15-member squad was New Zealand on April 29, 2024.
