Djokovic Replies Whether Bottle Incident Played A Role In His Rome Masters Failure

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has responded to a question whether the bottle incident affected his loss in the third round of the Masters in Rome.

Novak Djokovic
Been through half an hour, an hour of nausea, dizziness, blood, a lot of different things. I managed to sleep OK. I had headaches. The next day or yesterday was pretty fine, so I thought it's OK. I mean, the way I felt on the court today was just completely like a different player entered into my shoes. Just no rhythm, no tempo, no balance whatsoever on any shot. It's a bit concerning.

Recall, Djokovic sensationally lost in the third round match to Chilean Alejandro Tabilo.

The incident took place on 10 May in the Italian capital after Djokovic defeated Frenchman Corentin Moutet (6:3, 6:1) in the first round match and went to sign autographs for spectators in the stands. As the Serb was passing through the tunnel, a bottle filled with water fell out of the bag of one of the fans who wanted an autograph and hit him in the head. Djokovic fell down and could not get up for a while, and he was helped to the locker room by security guards at the stadium.
